Meta revolutionizes with Muse, its new AI image generator
Meta has just launched Muse, an artificial intelligence image generator that promises to make an impact. Developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs, Muse is available for free in the Meta AI app and also integrates with Instagram Stories and WhatsApp. But, as expected, the novelty is already surrounded by controversies.
So, what exactly can Muse do? Basically, it allows users to create fun and cartoonish images, similar to other AI image generators. For those who are out of ideas, Muse offers "presets," which are pre-made image prompts to help inspire creativity.
The most controversial point of Muse is its ability to manipulate images of Instagram users, as long as the profile is public. Just tag the person, and you can use their image to create something new. This has raised privacy concerns, as Meta does not notify users when their images are used in this way. However, the company claims that there are settings to disable this feature.
Muse expands the boundaries of creativity
In addition to creating images, Muse has other interesting applications. For example, it can be used to create personalized ads, something that has become increasingly common in advertising. Another application is visualizing interior design ideas, such as seeing how a used sofa would look in your garage. This functionality is integrated with Facebook Marketplace, Meta's popular space for buying and selling used furniture and accessories.
Muse also offers prompt-based image editing, allowing users to create and share images across various Meta platforms. You can ask Muse to create an image of you in front of a famous landmark or remove an unwanted intruder from the background of a photo. Meta is also launching new AI effects for Instagram Stories, supported by Muse, which include customizable filters to modify existing photos.
Using Muse is free for "everyday creations," but after a certain limit, it will be necessary to subscribe to Meta's plans. And the innovations don't stop there. The company is already developing Muse Video, an AI video generator.
