Explaining an idea during an online meeting usually means sharing your screen or opening a digital whiteboard. AIR Draw aims to make that process far more natural.
The Chrome extension combines hand tracking, gesture recognition, and artificial intelligence to let users draw in the air, manipulate objects, and generate diagrams directly on top of their webcam feed.
Still in beta, the project has recently gained traction after being shared across Reddit, LinkedIn, Threads, and X.
How does it work?
Instead of relying on a mouse or drawing tablet, AIR Draw tracks your hands through your webcam.
The demo showcases several interactions, including:
- Pointing to move the cursor.
- Pinching to select or create elements.
- Drawing in the air with your finger as if using an invisible pen.
- Using voice commands to ask AI to generate diagrams automatically.
- Overlaying all visual elements directly onto your webcam feed without sharing your screen.
The result is a virtual whiteboard integrated into your camera, allowing you to illustrate ideas naturally while speaking.
